Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Operations Group, Inc. (B&W NOG) specializes in the design and manufacture of products and services that are critical to U.S. government applications, including the manufacture of naval nuclear reactors for submarines and aircraft carriers.
With four operating locations throughout the United States, B&W NOG is committed to supplying our customers with high-quality, reliable products. B&W NOG is a multi-million dollar operating segment of the worldwide energy services provider, The Babcock & Wilcox Company. B&W NOG has four manufacturing locations , in Indiana, Ohio and Virginia. Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS) is a subsidiary of B&W NOG, located in Erwin, Tennessee. B&W NOG's headquarters are located in Lynchburg, Virginia, along with B&W's corporate headquarters.
B&W NOG's Barberton, Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Indiana, locations specialize in the design and manufacture of large, heavy components. The two locations are ASME N-Stamp accredited, making them two of only a few North American suppliers of large, heavy-walled nuclear components and vessels.
B&W NOG facilities in Lynchburg, Virginia, and Euclid, Ohio, design and supply components for United States government programs. The Lynchburg facility is one of only two private U.S. facilities licensed to possess and process highlyenriched uranium. Along with its government work, the Lynchburg site is also home to Nuclear Operations Group's Uranium Processing and Research Reactors group (UPRR), which is skilled in both uranium downblending applications and plate-type reactor design and production for research purposes.
The Euclid facility fabricates electro-mechanical equipment for the U.S. government and has the resident capabilities to take a product from design and production to assembly and final test.
Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS) is a subsidiary of B&W NOG. Located in Erwin, Tennessee, NFS operates a uranium fuel materials production facility to support America's fleet of nuclear-powered submarines and aircraft carriers. It also converts Cold War-era government stockpiles of highly enriched uranium into material suitable for further processing into commercial nuclear reactor fuel. NFS is licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and employs approximately 800 workers. NFS is the other (in addition to B&W NOG) private U.S. facility licensed to possess and process quantities of highly enriched uranium. Click here to learn more.
