ClimateBright™ Decarbonization Technologies
ClimateBright™ Decarbonization Technologies
Every day, our goal is clear: develop and deliver clean power production technologies with the lowest carbon intensity. With over 90 active patents for carbon capture, B&W has been a leader in the research and development of decarbonization technologies for more than four decades.
Decarbonization Overview
B&W's ClimateBright™ technologies can reduce carbon impact in a multitude of ways: with post-combustion or pre-combustion carbon capture, by utilizing cleaner-burning fuels, or by harnessing the energy from a vast array of feedstock to generate hydrogen, steam or syngas with carbon isolation.
BrightLoop™ Hydrogen Production
The BrightLoop chemical looping process produces desirable outputs, such as hydrogen, steam and/or synthetic gas while isolating carbon dioxide (CO2) for capture and storage/sequestration or beneficial use.
SolveBright™ Carbon Capture
B&W's SolveBright carbon dioxide (CO2) scrubbing systems are post-combustion carbon capture technologies that work by absorbing CO2 directly from flue gas in an absorber using a regenerable solvent. Our design allows solvent flexibility to provide solutions which are adapted to customers’ unique applications.
OxyBright™ Oxygen Combustion
B&W has developed this advanced carbon capture technology for steam generation. The steam can be supplied at various temperatures and pressures for use in processes or for use in a steam turbine if electrical generation is desired. This oxy-fuel combustion process can be applicable to coal, natural gas, biomass, or oil-fired units.
BrightGen™ Hydrogen Combustion
B&W’s BrightGen™ hydrogen combustion technology produces no CO2 and is commercially ready and currently in operation worldwide. In fact, we have supplied more than 60 industrial water-tube boilers firing hydrogen and hydrogen-blended fuels.
Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Sequestration (BECCS)
As a highly scalable technology, BECCS is an emerging innovative solution to decarbonize emission-intensive industries and enable negative carbon emissions from energy production.

Energy Transition
The renewable energy transition is the ongoing change in how energy is produced which aims at reducing the reliance on fossil fuels by replacing with renewable energy. B&W's dedication to providing better and more sustainable ways to generate power is nothing new for us. We’ve been doing it for more than 155 years.
